Living in a Visual World, and I am a Visual Girl

Name

Jennifer De Yeso

About

I am a sophomore Visual Communications Major and Japanese Minor at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Currently, I am a Graphic Artist and the Assistant Advertising Manager at UTM's campus newspaper, the Pacer. My design work consists mainly of advertisements, charts and graphs, or art graphics. I also design posters and fliers in my free time for various groups, organizations, and individuals. At the 2008 SouthEast Journalism Conference (SEJC) I was ranked no. 1 for Best in South for News Graphic Designer. I am also currently a Supplemental Instruction Leader for Japanese 111, and help tutor Intro Level Japanese students. I am an active member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Society of News Design, Women in Communications, Visual Communications Society, and the Japanese Club. I plan on continuing to develop my graphic design skills, while also becoming a well-rounded journalist versed in the ways of New Media throughout my collegiate studies.
